Orange Fizz Experiment

This is my experiment on Orange Fizz. I found out that if you mix baking soda with an orange, it forms millions of tiny bubbles. From there carbon dioxide is formed. Carbon dioxide is what makes soda drinks fizz.

Clouds in a Jar

This week we did an experiment on clouds in a jar.

Water care

YES!” I could not believe that someone from Water Care came
to Room I. I was so shocked.
Her name was Sarah and she told

us a lot of things. She taught
us information about stormwater and wastewater. Her job was
to teach students about water care so that we can help save
water.

She said that in the olden days they did not have flushable
toilets so they had to use bedpans. Did you know if you lived
in a hotel in the olden days the guest had chambermaids.
They did their business in a chamber pot and put it underneath
their bed. The guests would wait until the maid would empty it.

Also in the olden days water was toxic because the maids
chuck the sewage into rivers. If you lived in a special house
some people would come and take your poo away. Most
people were too lazy to empty themselves. I could not believe
they did that.

Sarah told us not to put oil in the storm water drain because
the water goes straight to the ocean. If you put oil  in the drains
then the fish would not be able to see. She mentioned that
leftovers would block drains and paint can cause sea life to be
very sick. Storm water does not get treated. The waste water
from our homes gets treated.
