Treaty Waitangi Information Report

A treaty is a formally written document/ contract.  The Treaty of Waitangi was
signed on 6th February 1840. 40 chiefs wrote the Treaty. William Hobson's
son translated the treaty into Maori. 500 Maori people including 30 women
signed the treaty  but 39 did not. British settlers were involved in signing the
Treaty. Some Europeans signed the Treaty.
